Why The Driving Center?

We’ve been in business since 2003, and are owned and operated by teachers with the knowledge and abilities to make a real difference in the education of teenage drivers.  We have proudly provided Driver Education now to over 8,500 students.

When Can I Get My Permit?

As of January 1, 2012 – you must be 15 years old and registered in a Driver’s Education Course. Without Driver’s Education you can’t get a permit until at least  age 16.

When Can I Get A License?

A student who has finished driver’s education, can get a license at 16 years & 90 days, as long they have held their permit for at least 180 days.

Can I Take The Classroom Portion ONLINE?

Yes.  The student may take the classroom portion ONLINE.  You still have to do 6 one hour drives at an approved Indiana Driver’s Education School.

What Do I Need To Bring To The BMV To Get My Permit?

You must have the student’s original birth certificate, social security card,  and two documents of proof  of Indiana residency.

How Much Does It Cost?

Driver’s Education at the Driving Center cost $350.  We accept cash, checks and major credit cards over the phone.

What Are The Driver Education Requirements?

The state of Indiana requires 30 hours of classroom instruction (Online or Traditional) and 6 hours of driving.

Can I Take The Drive Test At The Driving Center?

Yes.  The student may take the driving portion of the BMV waiver Test with the Driving Center if he or she earned at least a B average in driving portion of the course.  The cost is $30.00 and will be given in our Driver’s Education car with one of our certified instructors.

 

Can I Take The Drives With A Friend?

The Driving Center prefers the drives be one on one with the instructor.  We feel this is the best way for the student to learn the skills to safe driving.  However, if you prefer to take the drives with another student this is allowed.
